I didn’t have as many problems planning an outside wedding as I thought I would. In fact, it didn’t cost as much as an indoor wedding would have cost us. Since we had the flowers and mother nature everywhere, I didn’t have to spend a lot of money on decorations. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. Instead of having our wedding ceremony and reception on the beach or in a garden, I chose to have it in the park. I was surprised at all the parks available for weddings.
Since I never planned a wedding like this before, I needed all the help I could get. If you’re going to have your ceremony outside, it’s a good idea to have an alternative plan just in case the weather turns on you. It’s a good idea to have a tent ready to continue your ceremony if it becomes necessary.
We had canopies arranged for our reception and barring bad weather, planned to be wed under a lovely trellis. I mainly concentrated on the decorations for our wedding table and the reception tables. With the beautiful background of the park as our main décor, all I really needed besides table settings were a few extra flowers here and there. I thought artificial flowers would be best, since we didn’t want a bee invasion ruining our ceremony. You couldn’t tell they were artificial they were so beautiful,they looked like the real deal. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. You have to make sure your cake is safe from the summer sun, make sure you have citronella candles at your reception and that your tent has nearby rest room areas. [Each of our guest had a park bench place card holder and the centerpieces were flowers arranged around a glass globe with citronella votive candles inside. I found very decorative favor boxes and used them to package the chrome bottle openers we bought for our friends and family as a summer wedding theme. For our wedding table, of course, was our fabulous wedding cake with a very unique wedding cake topper.
I found it while browsing online for my other wedding accessories, and fell in love with it. They were especially customized for the bride and groom. They put our faces on our cake topper, and all I had to do was send them a photo of me and my fiance. How could I ask for a better wedding keepsake than that? Everyone at the reception had something to say about how unique it was. Everything I ordered for our ceremony and reception was the best in wedding accessories, especially our crystal champagne flutes and silver cake serving set. You wouldn’t believe all the nice accessories you can buy online.
Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. Thank goodness the weather stayed perfect throughout the entire ceremony and reception and we never had to put plan B into action. The DJ we hired was really exceptional and I’m sure that the music played on long after my new husband and I left for our honeymoon. Everyone commented on what a lovely ceremony and super reception we had. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception.
