I found a terrific, discount jewelry box online!

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Picking out the accessories for my ceremony and the supplies for my reception wasn’t half as hard as trying to choose something nice for my bridesmaids. I had a really difficult time finding exactly what I wanted to get for them. A number of favors for reception guests and people who stand up in your wedding are out there on the web. Trying to select just the right one is where it got difficult. I found some bargains on thank you presents, too. I also saved a lot of money on my wedding accessories, like the 8 piece wedding set that had my guestbook and pen, flower basket, ring pillow and more. I saved a ton on that. Buying them together rather than individually saved me a pretty penny.
While looking for the thank you gifts for my bridesmaids, I found a very lovely jewelry box I thought they all might like to have. Really, there were multiple wedding jewelry boxes that were very fancy. Since I was having such a hard time making up my mind on which one I wanted to order, I decided to move on to the rest of my wedding needs and get back to the thank you gifts for my girls later. I had almost everything I needed for the ceremony, but there was a few more things I needed to pick out for my reception. One thing that was on my plate, so to speak, was finding a wedding cake topper, and another was picking out wedding gifts for my friends and relatives, so I paid attention to those two next. I opted for a bride and groom salt and pepper shaker set and a bottle opener made to look like doves that had a beautiful chrome finish. Normally, I would have gotten some containers for the chrome openers, but the boxes they came in were so adorable that I just went with those. My fiance got his groomsmen a nice little stainless steel flask and a multi tool gadget that has just about everything from a pair of pliers to a bottle opener.
We got a cake topper of pair of newly weds locked in a loving embrace. I almost picked one out that had embossed silver intials and crystals, but after looking through a whole bunch of possibilities, I went with our mini bride and groom. I had put it off while I took care of buying the rest of the supplies we’d need, but it was time at last to select a gift for the women standing up in my wedding. I bought them all a piece of unique wedding jewelry, and I put it in girls jewelry boxes. What I found for them was a shimmering rhinestone bracelet. It was just perfect for them even though it probably sounds like a bit much. I kept some money in my pocket by getting discount wedding jewelry that was very pretty, and there was much selection. In fact I bought my pearl wedding jewelry to go with my wedding gown there too. The quality of the jewelry is top-notch, and the prices are deeply discounted. The groomsmen were pleased with what my hubby got them, and the bridesmaids were thrilled with theirs.
All my dreams came true on my wedding day; it was absolutely glorious. Two single people drew some attention: my husband’s brother snatched the garter out of the air, and my sister won the bouquet toss. Is it just coincidence, or is it fate? If anything came of it and my sister and his brother end up married, that means my sister would also be my sister in law. You never know!

Most Affordable Best Baby Shower Gift!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

There are a load of options available to you if you want to host a baby shower, and that number is expanding as the popularity and size of showers gets larger and larger. Baby showers are the most fun to attend because of all the very cute gifts invitees bring. As for baby shower gift cards, there is no shortage of them if you’re looking at putting on a shower. Check out the web and you’ll find plenty of ideas and advice for how to throw a baby shower party, along with great options for gifts. You’ll find all kinds of decorations and baby favors to work with to make your baby shower a very special celebration. There are items from place card holders to party gifts.
Are you interested in a baby boy shower gift to spice up the party? If the nursery hasn’t been fully decorated yet, some great ideas would be growth charts with little cartoon animals on it or perhaps a night-light to little teddy bear photo albums. You can get creative baby shower gifts, like a bunch of diapers made up to look like a cake with baby toys and booties all around it, or perhaps some bubble bath. This festive-looking cake can have almost anything for an infant added to it. One great thing to do for the woman who’s about to be a mom is to get her some personalized baby shower gifts. One of my favorite gifts for babies is the first tooth and curl containers. These lovely little silver plated boxes make great gifts for the mom to have as keepsakes. Many have a lining inside, usually pink for girls and blue for boys. It’s like those ink handprints and footprints you can get, it’s one of those things you want to keep for good. Smaller gifts are wonderful, even though a lot of guests will want to give something like a crib or a stroller. You can insist on getting a good present and still find plenty cheap baby shower gifts to choose from. Some products are always needed by moms with a newborn. Clothing for the baby is frequently a popular choice, from socks to hats and anything in between, rather than spending an arm and a leg for a gift. All these gifts a new mother will surely need and use.
Some of the best baby shower gifts are those that are an essential part of everyday life such as a diaper bag, diapers, or even a carrier. There is a treasure trove of options out there on the world wide web if you’re looking to get a present for a woman who’s about to have a baby. Don’t forget to give your guests baby shower favors if you’re the hostess. A few memorable baby shower party gifts could include little picture frames or brag books. You can buy everyone little candies as well, say a box with baby designs that has cream-filled chocolates inside. There are quite a few options when it comes to gifts for a baby shower. When you get a bunch of presents that you’re going to use as thank you gifts, you can also keep some of them out to be given away as prizes for winning the baby shower games you play.
Checking on the web will give you all the ideas and choices you could want for baby shower gifts, no matter if you’re attending as a guest or if you’re the one who’s throwing the shower. I found my baby shower presents online, along with almost all of the items I needed for my wedding as well. No matter what the event, and no matter what your taste in presents, you will be able to find something you’ll like on the net.

Perfect Memory Books!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Sometimes, we wish a day would last forever, and that we never forget those days. Some examples of treasured memories are your baby shower, bridal shower, your wedding, and many others, to be sure. I have wedding memory books that I really cherish to help my relive those special days over and over again. I have one wedding memory book devoted to the bridal shower my sister put on for me with some of my friends. It was a fantastic night, and there are plenty of photographs to prove it. I have shots of all the crazy stuff we got into that night, along with some of how gorgeous-looking the décor of the party was. The pictures we have really show just how outrageous that night became . I’ve even got a couple pictures of the male dancers we went to see. They knew how to work the crowd. I won’t soon forget my only night watching men dance like that. They weren’t the Chippendales, but they were really great to watch.
One of the things I picked out when I was buying things for our wedding was a memory book. There were an awful lot of photos to fill the pages. As a matter of fact, we had so many that I bought a pair of them, and it turns out that we needed both of them. Even after filling our wedding photo album with pictures there were still many photos left to find places for. One album had a space for our wedding guests to write their names in it. We had my first initial and my husband’s first initial flanking the initial of our last name on the cover of our personalized memory books. These books have such a look of elegance with it’s satin ribbon and gorgeous fabric. There are also refill pages available if needed, and we certainly need them.
I made sure that I had books to hold all my memories of every important event in my life so far. I don’t throw out my keepsake memory books, so I’m sure I’ll accumulate more and more. Baby shower books, a wedding book, and the one from that bachelorette party are the ones that I have currently. My boy is one year old and my daughter’s about to turn three. We got her a pink book and him a blue one because we decided to find out ahead of time what sex they’d be. Their first step and christening and so forth are in the books. The baby memory books have pictures, handprints, and birth certificates stored there, too. The shower and wedding albums contain one of the inviations that were sent out for each occasion as well. I could open up a photo gallery with all of the pictures I have stored away.
I intend to keep the memories of those wonderful days alive for the rest of my life, and I plan on keeping my memory books in the closet, no matter how much my husband keeps complaining. With the new video camera I just bought, it’s going to be a little different, because now I have to clear room on some shelves in the den for the videos I’ll be making. With all the videos I plan to record and all the picture albums and memory books I’ve acquired, not to mention all that I intend to aquire, I’ll probably have to make more room in other closets around the house. Hey, a girls got to have her memories to look back on. These years ahead are really important to a mom and I don’t want to miss out on one minute of it.

An Amazing Affordable Keepsake Gift!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

I decided that the day I got married was going to be a memorable day for everyone that was close to me. That’s why I decided to choose my accessories and gifts with the thought of momentos in mind. The gifts I bought were meant to be reminders of what an outstanding wedding day and night we had together. I began by selecting keepsake gifts and moved on to things like a wholesale keepsake gift. There were plenty of plans and products available online for creating an enjoyable wedding day experience. All of the things that I needed for my reception were there
I had a florist come in and make up darling arrangements to put in the middle of each reception table, and alongside them were little ceramic pots with lace that held candles inside. The place card holders, which I also discovered on the Internet, looked exquisite next to the flower arrangements.
The place card holders I decided on were beautiful beaded picture frames that the guests could all keep after the reception. If figured that if I wanted the folks who attended my reception to have good wedding keepsake boxes, the best way to do it was by giving them practical favors. If you’re giving a present anyway, I’ve always felt that you might as well get something that they can make use of somehow. If it has no usefullness, it’s probably going to be discarded or forgotten. My loved ones were going to get something they’d genuinely appreciate, if I had anything to say about it. So I chose bistro coffee mugs for each of our friends and family’s gift. It’s a product that any person can utilize, and the ones I got looked really cool. I bought a bunch of pretty hang tags to put on the boxes they arrived in, but the containers were so nice-looking that I just kept them in the boxes they came in.
Reception supplies and accessories were easy to find on the world wide web. One super item we picked out was our wedding cake topper. I wanted a cake topper that had some importance to us.
When we met for the first time, it was at a friends house and we were all engaged in a little friendly game of football on the back lawn. So our first meeting was in the middle of a memorable tackle attempt on his part and I thought the topper I found with the bride and groom playing football was an excellent choice. This will be a cake topper that will be a keepsake for two reasons, one, the day we met and two, the day we married. [spin]I was really surprised that I had found such a novel wedding cake topper as this one was, and not only that, I also found gorgeous wedding

Nice Wedding Photo Guest Book

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Planning a wedding and reception can be a very hectic and exciting time, filled with so many options on what to choose for themes, decorations, etc. I know that when I tried to assist my daughter in planning her wedding, the biggest challenge was trying to get her to settle on one choice. She had to select the kind of wedding she wanted to begin with, either one with a specific type of motif, or to go with a more standard type of ceremony. We looked through all the themed wedding possibilities and she just couldn’t decide. At first she thought about a garden wedding, and then she considered a beach themed wedding and reception. Having a standard wedding ceremony and reception was what my daughter decided, at last, would be the best option for her. When she eventually made that decision, it allowed us to get the preparations underway.
The invites had been delivered, the banquet hall for the reception was booked, and the church was rented out. The wardrobe for both the bride and the wedding party had been picked out already, so we were able to zero in on things that we’d need in order to put on the reception. In addition to finding a wedding guest book and a picture album, there were some other things that we had to pick out yet. We looked through a great selection of wedding photo guest books, some with so many lovely designs to choose from. A substantial number of the sign-in books had wedding pens that went with them, and they were just as pretty. We still had a few items to find when my daughter ran across a six piece wedding set that had a solid white satin cover with satin bows and rhinestones. Along with a ring pillow and wedding garter, which were very attractive, was a charming flower basket and unity candle. This gorgeous satin set also included a wedding photo guest book that also matched perfectly. It was astonishing to us to see that many charming accessories and supplies for so low a cost. The picture album we picked out for the special day was really cute; it had all kinds of neat pages for small souvenirs and art. The wedding album was ideal.
At last, we got around to buying wedding favors, a topper for the wedding cake, and place cards holders for the reception. Everything else was taken care of. A couple of doves formed out of glazed porcelain were what my daughter selected to put at the top of her wedding cake. That wedding cake topper will make a lovely keepsake. Every guest got a place card holder at the reception that was silver and in the shape of a picture frame. She thought it was neat to give the guests something they could actually use after the dinner. After looking at all of the items she selected for her ceremony and reception, I’d say she did a pretty good job of it. She’s excited about having some extra money for the honeymoon since she found such good bargains on most of the things she bought for the wedding.
It was a beautiful wedding, and the reception looked fantastic. When the bride and groom did their first dance, it was a stunningly beautiful moment. The memories of that night were terrific; I danced until my feet got sore, and I don’t regret a second of it. My little girl was now a wife and would someday be a mother, maybe with a daughter of her own. Well, when that day comes, I know exactly where I’ll go to get the supplies and shower favors for the baby shower I’ll throw. Whatever you’re planning a party for, that website has anything you could possibly need. It’s definitely my online shopping spot.

Affordable Wedding Unity Candles

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

There are so many options for wedding favors for friends and family attending your ceremony and reception. There are picture frames that can also be used as place card holders, novelty favors for almost every season or theme, and many other super ideas. I wanted to give our friends and family something that was gorgeous, but at the same time, something I knew they would use, so I decided on candle wedding favors. With the decorative favor boxes I found online, I also wanted to attached personalized hang tags on each gift.
I added some candles weddings to every reception table to add to the ambiance of the wedding. The wedding decorations with the candles and fantastic centerpieces made a great combination for my reception tables. You should see the fantastic wedding unity candle for bridal showers, and all the choices there are for candle party favors for graduations, birthdays and other important events. There is all kinds of products where I shop, not just the beautiful candles, but I found everything for my wedding accessories and they also have supplies for other types of parties as well.
With all the accessories necessary for a nice wedding and reception, I was really lucky to find a nice five piece accessory set, which included my guestbook, wedding pen set, ring pillow and bridal garter and a really gorgeous little flower girl basket. That really helped us out in the financials of buying all the wedding supplies we need. That’s another thing I like about where I got our wedding supplies, the prices are so reasonable, and they even had discount candles wedding favors.
We ordered a customized wedding cake topper and expected to pay a lot more than we actually did for it. They made the wedding couple on our cake topper look exactly like us and it was the talk of the reception. All that was required of us was to turn in a couple of head shots of each of us so they would have something to work with. The pink and red flowers on our lovely chocolate wedding cake with the three tiers was really a picture in itself. Next to our beautiful cake was the cake serving set I went crazy over, with it’s handles decorated in a gorgeous calla lily design.
The crystal flutes we got for our friends and family were for them to keep and we ordered special bride and groom flutes for our bridal table. We have no use for 200 champagne glasses, so why not let our friends and family have them as keepsakes? We had enough momentos of our wedding day, like our photo album, topper, wedding guestbook with all the signatures and so much more. One of the items in our five piece wedding set was the claret colored wedding guestbook with guest sign in pages, a place to list the gifts we received and a special spot for those little momentos. It’s nice to look back someday and see the names of all that celebrated your special day with you, and it comes in handy when you are preparing your thank you cards for everyone. You want to be able to mention the gift they gave you when writing out your thank you cards, it’s much more personal that way.
I guess most of our guests really like the unique candle wedding favors we chose for their thank you gifts, some of them expressed their appreciation. So, I guess I made the right choice. Everyone also told me what a great time they were having at the reception, and as we were leaving they all gave us their best wishes for a happy life. Our wedding day is a day that will live long in our memories.

Wonderful Party Invitations

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

The first thing I did when I decided to give my girlfriend a bridal shower was to put together a list of everything I was going to need for thte shower. At the top of the list was getting a party invitation. Now I’m one of those women that really doesn’t like shopping where I have to fight the crowds, or wait in line for price checks, so I decided to go online and see what I could come up with for the bridal shower. That was the right thing to do. The prices and selection were both better than I expected. Some of the deals were just incredible. The shower invitations were very high quality with pearl edges and silver writing. They had all kinds of invitation cards, from general party invitations to specific ones, like birthday party invitations.
There were some great little accessories for my shower too, like place card holders for all the little tables I had set up. One of the things I found was a little bridal guest book for everyone to sign and for the bride, to be, to keep a record of every gift she received. One style of place card holders caught my fancy. The place cards themselves had pink lilies on them, and then everyone got a handbag made of plastic and filled with candy in different-colored wrappers. They looked so nice on the party tables along with the decorations and party favors I chose for everyone. You should see all the cute litte favor boxes you can get for just about any ocassion you are planning on celebrating. I chose little floral patterned boxes which I stacked on a cake plate in layers and sat on the gift table. Every person at the bridal shower took a gift from the platter, and it looked classy that way. As thank you gifts I decided on manicure sets for everyone, and I bought a few extra gifts as prizes for the party games we were going to play. Some of the other odds and ends I used for door prizes were adorable little bath soaps, make-up mirrors, and novelty keychains.
There were plenty of proposals for bridal shower games on the web as well. In the the game ‘Take It Off,’ each person put a bag over their head and they have to take off one piece of clothing when the leader of the game tells them to, and it doesn’t occur to all of the women to take of the bag; it’s very amusing to watch. That is a funny experience you’ll never forget. We had a hoot playing bridal bingo and some other activities, too. Deciding to surf the web was an excellent thing to do since I saw all kinds of things I could use and a good portion of them were very affordable. I made out alright purchasing my favors and invitations from them. The things I purchased were well made, and I spent a lot whole less than I thought I would have to, and had a whole lot more choices. This site I found also has wedding invitations and favors, so I made it a point to inform my friend who was getting married about it, since I was sure she would want to know about this place. She’ll have a lot of options when she uses this site, and it will save her a pretty penny, which all newlyweds need. The shower was a hit because of them, I know that much. The bridal shower was a sensation, and everyone there liked their shower favors, too. The last thing to do is to send them all thank yous for being a guest at the shower. The thank you cards, as you might expect, were purchased on the net as well. Next, I’m helping with my friends sons’ birthday party with the help of my favorite online store.

Coolest Mikasa Wedding

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

I went to a wedding last week where they had mikasa crystal accessories on all of the reception tables. The place settings were so lovely with all the mikasa crystalsand gorgeous mikasa crystal glassware. The bride decorated her whole wedding and all the reception tables with such excellent taste. The tables just shined with lustre and elegance with all the different mikasa accessories.
They had little silver doves as the place card holders, and on the end of their tails were little place cards with a bride and groom printed on them. The centerpieces she chose really helped to bring out the beauty of her reception tables. A beautiful floral arrangement was placed around pillar candles as the centerpieces. They also chose very impressive thank you gifts for all of the guests. Each one of us received beautiful mikasa crystal wedding favors. The beautiful mikasa crystal was packaged in such lovely favor boxes with nice little thank you hang tags attached.
Five layers of chocolate heaven with chocolate flavored cream cheese on each and every layer was the choice of wedding cakes they had. As the cake topper she had a really unique idea. She shopped online for almost all of her wedding accessories and reception supplies and found out they customized cake toppers for weddings. The bride and groom on the cake topper look just like the wedding couple and they did this with only a couple head shot photos of the bride to be and her fiance. It was absolutely perfect. I had to find out where she ordered her wedding accessories from, the cake topper would be great for my mom and dads’ renewal wedding for their anniversary.
One of the highlights of the evening was when the bride gave up her garter for the toss. All those single men gathered together with a growing excitement while they watched the groom remove the leg garter from his bride. Then watching them fall all over each other, trying to be the lucky guy to catch it. One guy didn’t want to be in the garter toss contest, but the other guys persuaded him to do so, and this sweet little widower in his 70’s walked away with the lace garter. As the old man walked off with the garter in hand he was smiling from ear to ear.
For the bridal toast we all had crystal champagne flutes, that we were also given to take home, with the names of the bride and groom, and date of the wedding printed on them. After the best man said his speech and we toasted the bride and groom, it was time for their first dance together as man and wife. Watching them dancing together, so elegantly, was so moving. The floor quickly filled up with couples right after the wedding couple finished their first dance. My poor feet suffered the consequences of my all night dancing.
We all wished the bride and groom good luck as they left for their honeymoon. Hawaii was the honeymoon destination, from what I was told by one of the guests. Looks like their honeymoon will be just as fabulous as their wedding was. The rest of us partied until we couldn’t party no more.
A couple of weeks later, I received a thank you note from the bride and groom for the wedding gift and for attending. She really got to these thank you’s quickly. I did manage to get the information on the website that she ordered everything for the mikasa wedding from and the unique wedding cake topper too. So today, I’m placing my order for the special cake topper and other accessories for my parents special renewal ceremony and reception.

The Easiest Cheap Jewelry Boxes I’ve Seen!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Jewelry boxes sure are’t what they used to be; now, there are watch jewelry boxes, earring jewelry boxes, and about any other kind of specialized jewelry box you can think of. There are a lot of very decorative ideas for the many different types of boxes. My daughter bought a few for her and her bridesmaids and the party guests. That was just the beginning of what I discovered while surfing the web for gift ideas. They have some pretty nice suggestions for wedding decors, from traditional to themed. Prince Charming and his lovely princess was the theme that my daughter and her fiance went for. It was an incredible sight to behold when he stood waiting, in his majestic tuxedo as she walked down the isle in a dress that would have made Cinderella jealous. It was a picturesque wedding. A horse drawn carriage with a driver in classical attire swept the two of them away from the church after the ceremony was over.
At the reception, tulle with tiny white lights was draped in a circle and there were elegant flower vases placed everywhere around the room. Behind the bride and groom table was a floral arch of red and white roses and green foilage and there were beautiful flower bouquets on the reception tables with silver sparkles scattered about. For place card holders she found these silver dove tea light holders that really added glimmer to her settings. All the lady guests received small jewelry boxes with sculpted flowers and little crystals to add to its beauty. The men were given little key chains with the well known frog prince as a charm. The affordable jewelry boxes for the bridesmaids had black velvet-lined interiors and were made of wood and sliver-plated. My daughter and son in law had each of them engraved with the bride and grooms name and date of the wedding. The girls seemed to really like the thank you gift that my daughter picked out. It was a box like I used to have, I had no idea it was a wholesale jewelry box, it was so expensive looking. The men each got a commemorative inscription in a small plaque and a set of wine related gifts. I thought that was pretty unique for a thank you gift.
A tiny castle sitting at the top of the three-tiered wedding cake lent the cake a mystical appearance. She even found a cake knife set that matched up with her storybook theme and champagne flutes to go with it. Many of her decorations and supplies were top of the line, but she came in well below where I had expected on their wedding budget. As mother and father of the bride, we felt obligated to cover the cost of the wedding, but they were adamant about not accepting our assistance.
I felt the warm tears flow down my face as the two of them gracefully floated around the floor for their first dance. It was as if I were watching the real prince and princess in the Cinderella story dancing together. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. Everything turned out perfect and my little girl got the kind of wedding and reception she always dreamed of. Her ideal honeymoon is where they are at the moment, and I’m sure it will be wonderful, too. She promised to tell me all about the great places they went to while on their honeymoon, as soon as she gets home.

The Easiest Groomsmen Gift Ideas on the Internet!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

When my best friend informed me of a online shopping store for wedding accessories and supplies that could save us a little on the wedding expenses, I thought I’d give it a try. It’s true, reasonable prices and many accessories to choose from starting with wedding invitations right down to wedding favor gifts. Along with all the super wedding accessories they also carry groomsmen gifts and bridesmaids gifts. Needless to say, that’s where I did all my shopping for the wedding decorations and supplies.
December was the month we planned on for our wedding date and I was determined to have a winter wonderland wedding, and with all the accessories they have to offer, I knew I’d have everything I needed to make it work. The winter wonderland wedding bulletins were perfect for our invitations. When I went searching for my flower girls basket and the ring boys pillow I found a wedding set that not only had both those things but also, a guestbook, pen set and a lovely wedding garter too. I thought it would cost a lot more than it did for the matching five piece set. I was reading up on wedding ceremonies and that since throwing petals as the bride and groom leave the church may not be exceptable in many churches and couples are substituting bubbles in place of petals. So I checked out this online shopping site and found bottles of bubbles with lovely little bubble cards to go with them for our ceremony.
The lovely accessories I ordered were unbelievable. I was able to find gifts for not only my bridesmaids, flower girl and ring boy, but for everyone in our wedding party. My fiance was happy that they had so many cool groomsman gifts ideas for him to choose from.
A mug was the choice for the groomsman favors that he choice and each mug said groomsman on it. Since the cheap groomsman gift and the rest of the people in our wedding was taken care of, I could shop for favors for our friends and family. I had quite a selection of winter themed gifts to pick from for our guests at the reception. The wedding favors I chose were glass winter votive candles with a wintery frosted look for everyone attending the reception. Each candle had nice little silver snowflakes around it. They each came in their own little favor box with a silver hang tag.
I also bought place card holders that look like snowy tree ornaments that can be used as an extra little favor for our guests. I found champagne flutes, cake knife set, and the most adorable whimsical wedding cake topper for a winter wonderland wedding. Our topper was of a bride and groom skiing and I had the top layer of our cake made into a mountain of snow for the happy couple to placed upon. Our wedding cake was confection perfection and I wanted as many pictures of it as I could get for our beautiful winter wedding album. Right after we took care of the cake cutting, and my brother in law toasted us, we stepped out on the dance floor for our first dance together as husband and wife. With all eyes on us as we danced, I felt as magical as a princess in a fairy tale.
This reception was perfect, from the beginning to the end and all of our guests truly seemed to be enjoying themselves. The wedding groomsmen gifts and the bridesmaids gifts were a big hit. Some of our friends and family expressed how much they really liked the thank you gifts they received and told us what a spectacular wedding and reception we had.

A Wonderful Groomsman Gift!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

You get favors and gifts at wedding showers, bachelor parties, and bachelorette parties. You can get the future husband or wife a gift chosen from a lot of different options at these gatherings. I loved some of the stuff my hubby and I got. Some of the things we got were quite innovative, while most of the people at our engagement party just gave us cash, which was alright with us, every little bit helps when you are just started out. We were given movie and dinner certificates, a bottle of champagne we could use for our wedding toast, two tickets to a Reds game, that we really enjoyed, and little things like that. A lot of our loved ones gave us presents, even though it was not required for engagement parties.
The guys at the bachelor party got my fiance a shirt that said ‘I survived my bachelor party, but I don’t remember how,’ along with some other crazy shirts and things. A mug with groom on it was another groomsman gift he got, along with a sun visor and set of wine bottles that were made for a man about to get married. He also got to keep the ball and chain they made him wear all night and an inflatable woman they gave him as gag gifts. The guys had other funny groom wedding gifts they gave him, to ad to the merriment of his bachelor party. The bride gifts I received at my bachelorette party were sweet, although some were meant as gag gifts too. I received a present with a big ribbon on top that turned out to be an elegant white evening bag made of satin with a crystal clasp on it. They put a pin and a shirt inside the bag that I had to wear for our night on the town, and there were some make-up and manicure accessories inside as well. But I think my favorite little novelty bride gift was a throw pillow that said ‘tonight’ on one side, and ‘not tonight’ on the other. What a crazy present that was, and I know I’ll have a lot of fun using that .
On the other hand, the bride and groom wedding gifts we got the reception were all more serious. We got about three toasters, four blenders and lots of waffle irons, but that is to be expected when you have so many people attending your wedding. We did get some of the things I had written on to our bridal registry, like the china I wanted and the food processor. One of the gifts my husband truly loves is his bar side set, which also included a very nice pool table from his dad and mom. As a wedding gift from my mom and dad they bought our plane tickets for our honeymoon to the Greek Isles. We got a tremendous amount of lovely presents from our friends and relatives, all of whom we adore so much.
They are what helped to make our day so special, just being there to share it with us, meant the world to both of us. They have shared so much with us, our last night of being single parties, our engagement party, and our wedding and reception. Being surrounded with great, supportive people like them is what makes life so much more enjoyable. It also helps to have friends that care enough to throw you a wild night with a bachelor party or a mind trippin girls night out bash. Having friends in your life like ours can really make life worth living. Thank you notes could never begin to express how much we appreciate their love and support.

Radiant Duck Shower Favors!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Kids need bathtub toys, and Sesame Street’s Ernie even sang a song about one of the classics, a tune called ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One.’ It seemed like a longshot, but I checked to see if there were any duck baby shower available anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a lot simpler to put together such a baby shower than I anticipated it would be, especially with all of the outstanding input I gleaned from suring the Internet. There are a lot of adorable little duck favors and decorations to be found on the internet for baby showers and even toddler birthday parties.
I was holding the shower in my rec room in the basement so I had plenty of room to set up indivdual tables to seat four guests at each. On one end of the room was a table for all the shower gifts and on the other side of the room I had a buffet style table set up with all kinds of finger foods, drinks and deserts, including an adorable little yellow duck shaped cake with the words baby girl on the bottom layer. On the wall I had a huge cut out of Daisy Duck and smaller cutouts of Donald, Mickey and the whole Mickey Mouse Gang.
At each table were little pink picture frames that I used as place card holders and each frame came with a baby duck in the corner. There were duck favor candles at each table too and on the buffet table were paper plates, cups and napkins all with little baby ducks on them and even the punch bowl was unique. I went to a department store and purchased a little duck shaped baby bathtub and placed a glass punch bowl inside. It looked pretty adorable. I found an ice cube tray that made little duck ice cubes, so I put yellow water in them and froze them. Believe me, it was the most ducks you’ve ever seen in one place at one time.
On the world wide web, I found a bunch of great ideas, and that’s pretty much where I found everything I needed, but I did get a few recommendations from some of the people at my school. On the Internet is where I found duck shower favors, such as the precious duck favor bookmarkers I found, and the duck candles, too. We used them as prizes for the contests we had at the baby shower, and all of the guests adored them.
I put some rubber duckies in a large, square-shaped, makeshift tub that I filled with water before anyone got to the shower yet. Underneath every rubber duck, I wrote a number, and the each guest plucked one out of the water as they arrived. Later on I drew a number out of a fish bowl and the person with that number won a prize. We had a lot of fun with the guess the baby picture game, too. I hung a baby photo of every guest who brought their baby picture along on a bulletin board. Each guest got a chance to check out the board and see how many pictures they were able to match up with the faces of the other guests. The duck baby shower favor went to the one who guessed accurately on the most pictures.
Everyone enjoyed themselves, and the new mommy picked up quite a pile of wonderul presents for her baby girl. Going on the net to help me put together this shower was an outstanding decision. At first I wasn’t too sure about it, but it turned out to be a really great baby shower. Going with the whole duck genre worked out swimmingly.
